10th. November, 1910.

I have the honour to acknowledge

Your Lordship's Despatches To. 272 of 12th. "ovember, 1909,

and No. 131 of 13th. May, 1910, relative to changes in the

system of Audit in this Colony.

2.

In paragraph 11 of my Despatch

* 157 of 9th. Tue, 1:03, I requested that the Local Audizor

should be relieved of his duties in regard to Weihaiwei,

but Your Lordship in paragraph 4 of the earlier of the

Despatches under reply expressed the hope that upon further

consideration I should be able to agree to the maintenance

of the present system. The second enclosure (No. 100 from

Comptroller and Auditor-General of 25th. January, 1910) to

the later Despatch points out in this connection that che

necessary audit of the Postal Agencies in the North is

carried out in conjuction with the annual visit to Tei-
